The main pubs on Inis Mór are concentrated around Cill Rónáin, making the village the easiest place to spend an evening if you stay overnight. The atmosphere is very different after the last major day-trip departures.
Joe Watty’s
Joe Watty’s is one of the island’s best-known pubs and combines drinks, food and traditional music. It is a natural choice if you want one place that covers dinner and an evening out.

The Bar
The Bar is another established Cill Rónáin option and is convenient for visitors staying close to the harbour. As with most island venues, live music and opening patterns can vary through the year.
Madigan’s Bar
Madigan’s gives visitors another village choice without needing transport after dark. This matters more on Inis Mór than it might seem during the daytime, because accommodation can be spread beyond the harbour area.
Joe Mac’s
Joe Mac’s completes the main cluster of pubs in Cill Rónáin. If you are visiting specifically for music, ask locally what is happening that evening rather than assuming one fixed venue will always have a session.
Staying for the evening
If pubs and music are part of the trip, consider an overnight stay. The island is much quieter after the day visitors leave, and you do not have to watch the ferry clock while enjoying the evening.
See our music and culture guide, food guide and accommodation guide.
Plan the evening rather than relying on a fixed timetable
Traditional music and opening patterns can vary by season and by night. If a particular session matters to you, confirm it locally instead of treating an old schedule as guaranteed. Staying overnight gives you much more flexibility than trying to fit a pub stop around the last ferry.
